US Navy – Small Bomb Could Vastly Increase Strike Capability of U.S. Aircraft
Sea Power – A small precision bomb being tested by the Pentagon holds out the promise that tactical aircraft of the near future will be able strike three to four times the number of targets assigned to U.S. planes operating over Iraq today. The bombís small size and precision would vastly improve the attack capability of U.S. aircraft simply by increasing the arsenal that could be sent aloft.
Piracy – Killings by pirates on the rise
BBC – The body that monitors piracy around the world has reported a sharp rise in the number of ships crew killed in the first half of 2004. The number of attacks around the world fell by almost a quarter compared to the same period last year, but the situation in the Malacca Strait deteriorated.
